A: It may seem like the obvious answer, but it works: When an invitation arrives, RSVP immediately! Then attach the invitation to your calendar so it doesn't get lost in a pile of junk mail. If you don't know right away whether you'll be able to make an event, make a note on your calendar one week from the day the invitation arrives to remind yourself to decide and then RSVP. A computer scheduler works best, because you can program an electronic reminder to alert you when your event is coming up, and it can prevent the mad rush out to buy a gift at the last minute. Buying a gift can be hassle enough -- you shouldn't have to constantly scramble for the perfect card and gift wrap as well. It may be a little boring, but it's a good idea to always have all-occasion wrapping paper, ribbons, and blank cards on hand.
