Denim lovers will either rejoice or cringe when the revamped jeggings -- jeans that fit like leggings -- hit the stores this season.

By now, you’ve heard that a revamped legging is hitting the stores for fall. This season, the skinny jean has gotten even skinnier. And denim lovers will either rejoice or cringe when the revamped jeggings -- jeans that fit like leggings -- hit the stores. Gone are the faux back pockets and front zipper. And thick leggings with airbrushed denim “color” have been given a full makeover. Now you’ll find a jean with a legging fit made of the thinnest of denim in an array of styles and fits.

Expect to be surprised that when worn with the right piece, the new and improved jegging looks good on various body types, including plus size. How to get the right style for you isn’t as complicated as you may imagine.

First, stick to your personal style rules for your most basic jean styles. If you have a bit of a tummy, choose a high-waisted jegging. It not only tucks in the waist but also will give you a leaner look. Pear shaped? Then choose a style with at least a 4 percent stretch to give your thighs a seamless look. If you have thin legs, pick a light wash in blue and gray hues. This will add a bit more weight (in a good way) to the bottom, so your outfit will have balance, an important style essential in a jegging.

Make no mistake -- this is not a jean for the shy or timid. But why not indulge your inner daredevil? You might be surprised to find yourself with a new wardrobe staple this season.
